A court may seem overwhelming to try, with all its lovely layers, however, that the homemade lasagna is pretty easy if you follow some basic rules. Before you know it, your friends and family ask you to make your "calling card" for all types of meetings, parties and holidays.

The ingredients for lasagna needs are very simple and can be found in any supermarket. You need a box of ready-made lasagna sheets, a large can of pastasauce, 24 ounces of fresh shredded mozzarella cheese, 16 ounces of ricotta or cottage cheese (full fat), and fresh garlic (optional).

Preheat your oven to 350. Next you need to cook the noodles. Boil a large pot of water and submerge the noodles carefully without bending them to a breaking point. As they soften up a bit, you can push them further under the water. Stir them several times as they cook. You'll want to boil them at a full boil for at least 8 minutes. Drain them carefully, leaving a little water in the bottom of the pot to keep them moist while you are preparing the lasagna layers.

Using a 12 x 15 inch glass baking pan, line the bottom with lasagna noodles using tongs to avoid burning yourself. Spread a layer of sauce over top of the noodles. Be sure to spread the sauce all the way to the edges of the pan. Next, add a layer of ricotta or cottage cheese, and then a layer of grated mozzarella cheese. Now start again with a layer of lasagna noodles, and repeat the process until you've reached the top lip of the pan. Save a little extra grated mozzarella so that the very top layer is extra cheesy.

Place the prepared lasagna into the preheated oven at 350. Allow it to bake for at least one hour. After one hour, check the center of the lasagna layers. If they appear hot and melted, and the cheese on the top layer is golden brown, your lasagna is complete. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before digging in!
